The Three Notch’d Grill takes its name from Three Notch’d Road (also called Three Chopt Road), the route that took settlers west from Richmond, through Crozet, and across the Blue Ridge Mountains. Crozet was the capital of apple and peach production, and the town’s history still can be seen at nearby Chiles Peach Orchard and Henley’s Orchard.
These days, wine is what the region produces. Local wineries include Whitehall Vineyards, Afton Mountain Vineyards, King Family Vineyards, Veritas Winery, Oakencroft Winery, Cardinal Point Vineyard & Winery and Wintergreen Winery.
